MY COMPUTOR CONTRACTED ABOUT 5 PROBLEMS,I MESSED WITH THE BIOS,STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS,SO I PULLED THE BATTERY FOR 35 MINUTES.
WHEN I RE-BOOTED A BLACK WINDOW CAME UP WITH A LOT OF WHITE PRINTING,IT DOES SHOW THAT THE BIOS DEFAULTS WERE INSTALLED.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT ONLY BOOTS TO THAT WINDOW.
F1-F-8 F-10 ON RE-BOOT DOES NOTHING.
THIS IS MY FIRST TRIP INTO BIOS.
I SURELY WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP I CAN GET,AS I NOW HAVE A DESKTOP THAT DOESNT WORK.
POWER SPEC 6242,XP-HOME,512 RAM.
THANKING EVERYONE IN ADVANCE,JIMMY

when you boot your computer does the floppy light on the floppy drive turn on? If it does, you might be able to flash your BIOS and stop that black screen from appearing.

according to this your mainboard seems to be a Biostar P4SF.
Information on the board itself here.
Drivers, BIOS, Manual here.
BIOS Setup Helper here.

Enter the BIOS by pressing 'DEL' at startup..happy messing (again)
