Boot Lock GA-586TX3 when adding PCI card (Sweex 4 Port USB)

Hi,

I have a:
- GA-586TX3 Motherboard with a P1 233mmx CPU (with the most recent BIOS loaded)
In which I want to add a:
- Sweex 4 Port USB 2.0 PCI Card, article number: FA000040

When I add this PCI card into any slot, the motherboard does not boot up (I also don't revieve a POST boot message).
Removing all cards from all slots (exept video card) does not help.
Changing the Video card does not help.

Does any one have a similar problem and can this be solved by changing some settings in the BIOS or on the Motherboard, if yes how/what?

I thougt it might be a PCI compatibility problem.
The Sweex card requires:
- PCI interface: V 2.2, 32 bit bus, 33Mhz host interface
Which is supported by the GA-586TX3 as far as I know, mabey I missed a setting or a jumper.

Thanx already.

Only USB2 cards with NEC chips work on old motherboards (not VIA or ALi), and even then it's hit and miss. I remember there's a Longshine card with NEC chip that works.

This workes perfect.
All at USB 2 Speed.

I remember someone having some weird issues after using a card with ALi chip on a P3B-F. Maybe BX boards are different again... go figure. Or possibly one would have to differentiate between the different ALi controllers, apparently there are two types of chips, M5622 and M5633.
