HP USB ports. HELP

I have a HP pavilion a210n and the front usb ports have been working fine since i ever bought it. Then two months later, the front USB ports stopped working suddenly. I have checked the cables in my computer and they all seem to be connected but just to be sure i gave it a light push. What could be wrong?
My motherboard details:
Motherboard ID: 31891.HPD.0000.D.0304251530
Motherboard name: TriGem Glendale
RAM: 512 MB

Blown fuse? The USB port supplies power; test using an externally powered hub or other device (e.g. external HDD/CD/DVD that uses mains) - if that works you may have a blown fuse on the motherboard.

In device Manager it says:

Blown fuse? The USB port supplies power; test using an externally powered hub or other device (e.g. external HDD/CD/DVD that uses mains) - if that works you may have a blown fuse on the motherboard.
I have tried an external harddrive that uses power from the outlet (not the usb port) and it did not show up . I have also tried a travel drive that is self powered (through the USB port), and it still did not work.
Please reply ASAP.

I assume you have rear ports (from your initial posting)...do they work?

Yes, my rear USB ports are working fine. I have no problems with them.

Can you tell which controllers they are connected to?
Where is your USB 2.0 Root Hub?

I do not know which controller they are connected to. And the USB (2.0) hub have two in the front and four in the back. I have the page form hp that have my motherboard specs:

One of the Root Hubs should say "USB 2.0 Root Hub" to go along with the "USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller" mentioned above.

In the device manager, i dont see USB 2.0 Root Hub.

That's what I'm saying (you should).
Try re-installing the USB...see what happens.
PS - the "View Devices by Connection" will show you which USB Controller a device attaches to when you plug it in.

If I view devices "by connection" in Device Manager as KachiWachi suggests then there is a USB Root Hub hanging from the EHC, but it is not listed as a USB 2.0 root hub. It must be down to how it's described in enumeration...

I know that thread ended a few months back, but now when i connect a device in the front USB ports, windows xp says that there a power surge on the USB ports. When i go back into the the device manager, i still dont the USB root hub. Whats going on?
