Dead P5N-SLI after EzFlash lock-up

Hello everyone!

Well, this wednesday, I was updating my bios to the latest version. I was using the Asus EzFlash utility, wich can be loaded directly through the bios, and can update the bios through a Pen-Drive, CD-Rom, HD or Floppy, so that I didn't have to go through the hassle of creating a bootdisk and etc.

The problem was that the PC locked up, and the progress bar stopped moving. I left the computer for 30 minutes to see if it would continue updating, but when I returned, bar was at the same spot as before.

I had no other option but to reset the computer, and after that, nothing shows up in the screen, and the bootblock doesn't show up (and it doesn't look for the floppy).

Since my board is brand-new, It's hard to find one of the same model around here (and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find someone that writes bios directly to the chip).

Is my board wasted?
Can I force bootblock to appear with my bios chip?

Thanks in advance for the replies, and sorry for any errors, english is not my native language ;-)

Mobo: Asus P5N-SLI
Bios Chip: Winbond / w39v040cpz / 4548360002 / 612LAFA
Bios type: Award 6.0

Did you try making a boot floppy with the autoexec.bat saying: (flashutil) (bios image) /py/sn/f/cc/r ? (for example "AWFL865.exe w7246ims.720 /py/sn/f/cc/r" without "")? Does your comp try to read the floppy drive even though it doesn't post?

Yes, I've tried that and nothing happened. It doesn't look for the floppy after I turn the PC on.

Got same problem. You need a new bios chip or another board to hotflash your bios.
Sorry. :(
Try Uniflash. Thats what I need to resort to and I'm about to do it right now. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Edit: Tried it, I guess it can't detect BIOSes under an nForce 4 chipset? It said unknown and it couldn't detect my bios. >_>
