Hi...

my first posting is directly a Problem...

I updated the bios of a Gigabyte 686BX, with ther right Bios and flashing utility. The Process was o.k. but now, the bios doesnt boot anymore.

The BIOS hangs...nothing works (keyboard) after the drive-detection.
When i'm fast enough, i can press the "setup-key" and see that he recognize it. But nothing happens..

"entering setup" and thats it...

Any ideas ?

I removed all cards, drives, changed graka an ram, tried to clear cmos...nothing helps...

thx..

Sounds like bad memory or an overheating CPU to me. It may also be badcaps syndrome http://www.badcaps.net

I cant flash back to the right bios. The board doenst boot...so flashing is impossible...

An the bios chip has 40 pins, so i cant use another board...

Puwer Supply is o.k. ( 2 tested)

The GA-6BXC should have a standard 32-pin Flashrom, I never heard of the Intel 40-pin Flashroms been used on anything newer than i440LX.

Are you sure you really have a BXC? I had several of them in revisions from 1.x to 2.x and not a single of them had a 40-pin flashrom.
