Post Stops in the Post with message - Updating ESCD...

The board had chipset's VIA, and bios AWARD. I try to change the sound board, for a new one, and when I turn on the PC, after post, appears the Message "Updating ESCD ... ", and machine had stop.
I couln't do nothing, tried to clear bios, unmount boards but nothing seems work, please help me.
Nothing works, pc stop before read the disk or drive A.
