Motherboard Asus M5A97 rev2 AMDFX FD4300WMW4HK CPU with direct key for Memory testing DDR3..I have been given this Motherboard by a friend, who told me that it has been working perfectly on his system,he decided to update to DDR4.
I have not been able to succesfully get the motherboard and cpu combination to Boot Up i have tried to boot it up with limited accessories installed ie one stick of kingston RAM 1600 no hard drive connected etc i dont hear any beeps but the Direct key memory light just keeps flashing and wont go out.i have tried a different memory stick same manufacturer RAM 1600 in all of the 4 Ram slots..the same thing happens, every time and i keep clearing the cmos.
I have been advised that the BIOS 2603 is problematic and is the latest BIOS for this Board.Should i reflash the bios to 2602 and would this sort out the problem?i do i have to accept that there is a fault on the motherboard?Anyone who could help me with this problem,i would greatly appreciate your feedback..Michael UK
