hello
i have a problem, i don't know whats my mbo i have here...
exactly i have 3 of them, all of them r equal...
slot 1 based with 440BX chipset... all I know is they are made from Olivetti around 1998 and with AMIbios on it... i will post a pic later this evening...
here's the code i get in boot
62-3147-111898-00101111-071595-440BX-LYON-5

so, if anyone has any hint about model, manual or even a bios update pls let me know..

thanks a lot

Those are from the Olivetti M7000 series, the Olivetti part number is BA2431, the model name is Lyon (the city in France) and they were made by triGem for Olivetti only. I may have a slightly newer bios but that is about it, there's no olivetti info online anywhere and the manual for this board was never published by them anyway. TriGem will be of no help, they will point you at Olivetti.

btw if u maybe know, there a white socket in the middle of mbo, between cpu and ram, do u know what it is made for?

it's a pure and simple slot 1 with Intel LX/BX chipset mainboard. rockstable and high ram throughput. no problem to use it with linux or any other OS :)
special for this mainboard: vga and sound onboard. the ATI mach64 core vga (Rage Pro maybe?) is right below the slot1 cpu slot. the ESS (maestro 2 maybe?) soundchip is on the left side of the AGP slot. there is a chip on the left to the battery. this may be a monitoring chip to keep track of voltage and temperature. but without the chip's markings that's just pure guesswork.

the white slot below the VGA chip can be equipped with extra display ram. they could be found on old ATI vgas, too. the modules are custom and quite rare. since you'd be using the machine as a (headless) router it would be a waste to put in a module ;)

if there's no problem with the bios i'd leave it as it is. the linux kernel drivers will take care of most of the quirks anyway.

the ISA card may be a SCSI adapter for an external scanner. i can see some RAM, some GAL/PAL (generic/programmable array logic) and a lot of glue logic ;) can you please post the markings on the big chip in the lower left corner?

this is an Intel 186 cpu. well, doesn't help much. still it seems to be some kind of controller, but without the peripheral it's pretty useless i guess.

Looks strangely familiar, could be a multi-serial-port card. What are the numbers on that barcoded label in the middle?

sry for being late, forgot for this thread...
the code on the barcode is:
