I got TD-4IP-UMC-AIO board. It looks exactly like one of the ADI boards at Edwin's page.
The only exception are the fake cache chips with "WRITE BACK" on them.

The BIOS had 27C1024 printed on it, nothing else - but it showed "Updating ESCD... Success" before boot. After rubbing with alcohol, the 27C1024 text disappeared and something other appeared. Again some rubbing, the second text disappeared too. Looks like there's Winbond there - but very well covered :)

The BIOS ID string is "12/19/95-UMC-881E/886B-2A4X5CF9C-00" and some sites dentify it as FordLian 9885AW board.

I'm going to install sockets for real cache there. I also want to make UniFlash support for the UMC chipset...too bad that there aren't any datasheets :(

Just in case your BIOS gets "wiped" :wink:
...there's your same BIOS release available for downloading here:

I thought only PcChips did fake cache...

4IP-UMC-AIO looks suspiciously like an ECS number, might be another relabeled PCChips. The ADI boards are among the cheapest worst pieces of s**t I encountered from that era so it figures...

Hi

So we have found two more siblings of the Syl8884/M921/ST1-A

http://th2chips.freeservers.com/ -> Syl...

My Bios chips are SST, but were also covered with black paint.
Give some real cache, they are really good boards.

IIRC The fake cache scandal did not only involve PCChips but also others like Chaintech etc.

Bye
