Chaintech 6VIA6 or 6VIA6T :?:
The latest 6VIA6 BIOS is:
03/09/2001-694X-686A-IA6LJC6CC-00
03/09/2001

The latest 6VIA6T BIOS is:
01/22/2002-694T-686B-IA6LJC6CC-00
01/22/2002

Check your chipset if it's 694X or 694T (694T has support for CPUs with Tualatin core).

This combo 06/12/2001-694X-686B-IA6LJC6CC-00 is seen on system of the brand MSNet sold by a supermarket called Carrefour in France. Maybe an OEM version, maybe just another motherboard by Chaintech. Will try and find out.

Chipset...

Chipset is 694X (with a 686B)

What's the right bios ? the latest 6VIA6 BIOS or the latest 6VIA6T BIOS ?
where can I find it ?

thanks

Weird. 6VIA6 is listed with 694X and 686B chipset here:
http://www.chaintech.com.tw/PRODUCTI/ma ... /6VIA6.htm

Where does that 694X-686A bios come from? edit: ah I see, here
http://www.chaintech.de/BIOS/Models/6VIA6.HTM

But that one is older than the one on this board!

What type number is written on your bios chip? Something similar to CT-6VIA6 but not necessarily that.

CT-6VIA6/100 then. Right, this is a 6VIA6 but with UDMA 100 support. It looks like Chaintech themselves have no bios upgrade for this board or any other online info. As far as processor support, I'd take the ones listed for the regular 6VIA6, not the Tualatin variant.
