Can anyone identify this motherboard and any links to manufacturer. HP site states ASUS board. I cannot find any reference to ASUS but board does say CUW AM. Bios wizard reports:

Asus boards sold to other companies are typically unsupported by Asus. But do a Google search for CUW AM; you'll find lots of hits.

What functionality is missing to make you want an upgrade?

I wanted to find out if i could use single side 256MB Ddimm's. When I tried the system didn't recognize any memory

256MB Single Sided should not work on I810 mainboards or with capacity reduced

If I rember correct then 128MB single sided with 8 chips oder 256MB double sided with 16 chips is needed
