Not to sure which forum I should be posting in, so accept my appoligies if wrong forum.

I am looking for the Chipset drivers and a BIOS update for an old motherboard. I have no positive manufacturer for it. The only information about them that I can find is that it was supplied \ made by "Consolidated Marketing Corp." When I go to the referred web site (given by BiosWizard) I can find no reference for any computer parts. The details, as far as I have discovered, about the board are as follows (This info has been gathered using various motherboard tools and SiSoft Sandra:

AMI (American Megatrands) BIOS =
51- P00 (or is that OO) - 1608 - 00101111 - 07/25/94
(By using the 1608 letters above, (on this site), it led me to the above name).

Version: P0.01 Date:25/07/94

ID Number FC 01 00

Super I/O Chip: SMC 665GT rev 2

IDE Controller:Vendor:1095 Device:0640 Revision:02

CMD: PC10640

Chipset = SIS 50X (SiSoft shows it as SIS85C501/2 Pentium - PCI Chipset)

I can try and supply more info if required. Let me know if what you need & how to find it)

There should be a type number on the board C55xx or C54xx, please check if you can find anything like that printed on the board.

This is the actual model number of the board. I'm still looking for more info.

Found a picture.

and another one:

Now for a manual or jumper settings.

Thanks very much, thats the board! Whilst you are looking for the manual where would I go to look? It would be good experience for me, and if I find it, I could compair with the one you find. This would let me know if I have done the search correctly.

Use every search engine you know of with the part number C54PI, try to find out who has sold CMC motherboards in the past and email their tech support sections and so on.

I think the revision number is A01 (a zero one) not aoi...

Their official homepage is here:
http://www.computex.com.tw/cmc/EMAIN.html

You may try to email them...

Generic chipset specifications

Typical CPUs__DRAM Types__Mem Rows__DRAM Density__Max Mem__ECC/Parity__AGP__Bus Speeds__PCI clock Dividers__Max L2/Tag bits
P54C__FPM/EDO__4__16Mbit__128MB__No__N/A__50/60/66__1/2 2/3 14MHz__512MB 8-bit/128MB WT/64MB WB

So, only single-voltage non-MMX Pentium 1 processors (not sure what maximum speed, I think 133MHz), 4 x 32MB EDO sticks maximum memory.

Windows 95 and up have a generic IDE/PCI drivers which will function OK with this chipset, there are no specific drivers that I know of.

Hi there edwin
Just to let you know that I have been trolling through the web archive site

http://www.archive.org/index.html

(Don't know if I will find anything here or not. Old web pages now discontinued in general and lot of dead links as well as lot of live ones)
But have had no luck, also mailed CMC and am waiting for reply.

I know you will say it is no use but without hope there is nothing.
I found a bios update at the following link, it is for a different manufacturer, but the lay out is similar to what I have and the chipset is the same. Could you look and let me know? the link is:
http://www.chaintech.de/QUESTION/586q.H ... 20Overview

All one line and then click on early 586 about 5th 6th from bottom

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th from bottom have the same chipset as your board.
Chipset = SIS 50X (SiSoft shows it as SIS85C501/2 Pentium - PCI Chipset)

Hi edwin
Thanks for the reply. Does that mean I can use one of them to upgrade the bios? If so which one would you reccomend? (my responsibillty if I decide to follow your advice)

If you make a recomendation can you give me some tips on what to do, remembering it will be my first time.
Also would any of the manauls/diagrams be of any use to me? (I know a couple of them are practically illlegible but might help me out until a proper one can be found, or should I say if one can be found) would the pins/jumpers etc. be the same?
