Hi there

First of all: I've read your rules, and browsed your posts. so if this post is misplaced, plz tell me and don't just delete it. I’m a fists time flasher - plz, be gentle

I'm having some trouble finding the right update and tool + if it's the right way I’m going at it. Here are my stats on the puter I want to flash:

It's an old Acer Aspire with an 200 MHz Intel Pentium cpu, it runs on EDO-ram, and the slot board is separated from the main board, even though its a midi tower. The bus contains 3 x PCI slots and 4 x ISA slots. The name ”Aspire" is printed on the slot board, so I figure it's an Acer board.
Nothing is mentioned on the main board.

BIOS STRING (BIOS V2.0):

ACR25E00 - M0C - 960822 - R01 - B2

If I'm mot mistaking; the BIOS chip is the chip near the battery on the main board. The info on the chip is:

According to your BIOS list it should be a Acer main board. And I should think it’s a PHOENIX Basic input output system.
I've been at Acer's side and found an update from v 2 to v 2.15.
But, I can’t find any info how to flash it, what the update contains, or if it works wit a phoenix bios.

My questions to u are:

1: Is my mainbord an Acer?
2: Is my BIOS a Phoenix?
3: Is it the right update I've found?
4: What program do I flash my bios with?

I should think I've looked for the answers on your side and Acer’s side.
But this is a serious thing, and I need confirmation + the info I can’t find.

If anything is missing or I'm doing something wrong - plz tell me.

which identifies it as an Acer V55LA.
Do not use any BIOS other than the Acer BIOS for the V55LA.

May I ask u how/where u found the info?
not that I doubt u, It's just be course I've sreached for it with no luck.

Google search for ACR25E00 turned up http://member.nifty.ne.jp/vtowns/hard/bios.html
I do not read Japanese (my father did) but there is a list of BIOSes including yours, relating to V55LA. Then go to the Acer site, look for support->desktop->mainboard->V55LA.
