Ok so I have an HP a1310n with an AMD 3700+ Athelon 64. Now from what I have gathered they made the 3700+ in both socket 754 and 939. Is there any way to ID the socket with out opening the case? I will open the case If I have to but I would rather not if avoidable. This is the info I was able to gather that may help. Please don't flame me to much I have not really dealt w/ hardware to much as I mostly a software kind guy:

Go to the HP website and do a search on a1310n, among the links this is what you get:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... ct=1815823
This board:

is in your system which clearly says socket 939 in the spec sheet as well.
