Supergrace should be a brand name of PcPartner.

hi
thanks for that but unfortunantly there is no corelation between their board markings and the mobo i am working on eg no stickers
no silk screen number starting with 35-xxx-xxetc
and the only guidence i have had was the bios string which say's its a supergrace board

this whole exercise is to get xpsp2 working on this board
as it will not and xp will run i suspect bios update will fix this

It seems there are only three RS300 boards by PcPartner

http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/vtech/strings/atibios.html

Two of them are Micro-ATX and one is a full size ATX
RS300MS4-A26 and A-39 are µATX and A-38 is ATX

What's the problem with your OS ?

were there any boards by supergrace or are they all pc partner boards
and would it be worth asking pcpartner reguardless of their web page id markings for pc partner mobo's
also the aparent lack of markings on this board could it be a (clone) the mobo driver disc it came with does not have any reference to a manufacturer and just says ati chipset board and has drivers for smbus and realtek lan thats it

os problem is any attempt to upgrade to xpsp2 makes the pc freeze at the windows splash screen (little blue bar stops moving)
after a little google work and some various hardware tests found reference at microsoft to intel prescott cpu adress c-0 error in some older bios that comes up with sp2 install (only thing i cannot rule out yet)

From what we know all Supergrace boards are relabeled PcPartner boards. Maybe back in the pentium ii era they have used a few HIS boards, but that manufacturer has gone belly-up.

thankyou to all

Strange, there's an exact match at Edwin's site :)
