FP-KT133+ A05 12-18-2000

12/18/2000-8363-686A-6A6LMJ19C-00

8363-6A6LM = VIA VT8363 (KT-133)
J1 - Jetway or J-Mark

Board is marked FP-KT133+, Rev. 1.2, (oriental characters) 3892D053.

Installed CPU is an AMD Athlon A1000AMT3B (Thunderbird, 1 GHz).

It came in an ASUS case (not that that means anything).

Can anyone narrow this down further?

Thanks.

I saw all that.

I'm not sure if it is a 663AS Proor a 663AS Ultra...since the Northbridge has a heatsink on it.

I'm leaning towards the Pro...since apparently, the Ultra has a switch (SW1) for the CPU FSB...which my board does not have.

Thanks.

With a 686A southbridge it should be a standard 663AS, AFAIK the 663AS Pro is a new edition with the 686B southbridge.

If the board is in running condition then CPU-Z or other progs should be able to tell you the chipset used.

It is, but no CD/DVD or HDD.

All I have for the moment is a floppy...so that limits me to DOS.

I plan to run PCI on it later today to identify the chipset.

I'll report back then.

Thanks.

I just got the datasheets from VIA. :D

For a KT133, the Revision is *supposed* to be 0Cnh...with "n" being the rev code.
For a KT133A, the Revision is *supposed* to be 08nh...with "n" being the rev code.

Since my Revision is 03h, this doesn't help much. :(

Have you ever seen KT-133A Boards with the old 686A Southbridge?

You got the datasheets from VIA? Or you found them somewhere on the web?
I got this far: rev. ID 0x8# SEEMS to be the KM133/A chipset and rev. ID 0x0# SEEMS to be KT133/A. I know that the datasheets state otherwise, but VIA datasheets are a mess anyway (they still call the KT133 KZ133 in their datasheet..*sigh*)
I still suspect them to have changed the revision ID for the KT133A..maybe you can help out by pulling off the chipset cooler :)

I got the datasheets directly from VIA (by e-mail).

KT133 - Revision 1.32, October 17, 2001
KT133A - Revision 1.2, May 2, 2001

I e-mailed back asking for clarification...no word yet.

I'd rather not pull off the heatsink until I actually find out if the board "works".

They just sent me an updated KT133A datasheet -

Revision 1.24, January 14, 2003

Not that this helps much... :(
