What Happen After I Flashed My BIOS

I have Win ME and after flashing my BIOS something made me go to C:/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device Manager. Under System Devices, I noticed that I had a yellow exclamation mark beside the System Board Extension for PnP BIOs icon. After clicking on the System Board Extension For PnP BIOs icon Properties box, on the General Tab in the Device Status box, it says: This device is causing a resource conflict (code 15). To resolve the conflict, click Hardware Troubleshooter and follow the instructions in the wizard. Nothing happens when I click on Hardware Troubleshooter icon. What's even more strange is that when I click on the Resources Tab, in the conflicting device list box, it says no conflicts. Man, what's going on? Shouldn't the conflicts be listed? What should I do? Should I remove the System Board Extension for PnP BIOs icon from my computer? Please give me some enlightening feedback? In my next
post, I will give you some information that may help you assist me in my situation

What board do you have? It's possible that new BIOS has ACPI support - reinstall Windows and you might see System Board Extension for ACPI BIOS instead.

Dear Rainbow,

I have a M810LMR model motherboard which was manufactured by PCChips. I've checked the PCChips website, www.pcchips.com and it didn't give any information on what the latest BIOS update for my model motherboard had to offer. Man, I would hate to reinstall Win ME. It'll be alright I guess. I got most of my important files backed up on my DVD + RW drive. Man, is there another that you could think of to solve my problem without reinstall Win ME. If that's the only way, well, I guess I'll have to do it.

Dear Rainbow,

I want to reinstall my Win Me, but I can't use my startup disk since I've flashed my BIOS. Is like my startup disk files are being bypassed. Is there another for me to get to the DOS Prompt before Win ME is actually loaded?

Dear Rainbow,

I figured out how to get to the dos prompt and reinstall Win Me. This is what I did. I went to my Bios by holding delete key before the operating system loaded and
that led me to my BIOS setup utility. I changed my boot sequence. Man, I don't know what's wrong with me. Before I changed my boot sequence, the sequence used to be IDE0, Floppy, & CD-ROM. I changed it to Floppy, IDE0, & CD-ROM. I was assuming that since my floppy drive was the 2nd in the boot sequence that I was eventually was going boot from the floppy.

Well, you were right. I went to the device manager and saw what you said that I was going to see. Thanks, thanks, and thanks for your help.

Respectfully Yours, John B. Turner, III :D
