Hello everyone, I just came across this message, after the cooler went off, I saved the cpu AMD but now when I switch the PC, it write "Award Bootblock BIOS v1.0 ... BIOS ROM checksum error... INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"
So I did it, I tried with winme boot, win98 boot, win95 boot, dos 6.22 boot and DRDOS 7, the floppy start to read and few minutes later, it stops and then nothing more, I wait 15 minutes but no result.

I have the following autoexec.bat script "uniflash.exe -E ktaprob2.bin" nor "awdflash.exe ktaprob2.bin /Py" this 2 doesn't work.

Any idea??

Thanks.

Same result.

I've done that with 2 other AMD cpu and other cooler and other ram and I changed the battery too.

I have received also kind information, to try with the flag /F instead of /Py, but it seems the Flash eprom doesn't allow me to upgrade.

Any idea if Hot swapping can work? Nor if somebody has a working boot disk system type Dos5 or Dos6, I tried with winme boot, win98 boot, win95 boot, dos 6.22 boot and DRDOS 7, I feel the command.com is taking to much space, I probably need an old Dos boot disk, to minimize the working space load.

Thanks.

Looks like the bootblock does not work - can't read from floppy. try the hot-flash.

Hey I had exactly the same problem with Abit KT7 mobo,
got another bios eprom from buddy of mine.....
Tryed the hotswap....it boots up to Dos with the other chip....
I've used UNIFLASH to flash the bios in to the old chip (it's Winbond
W29c020c-90b)....flash went succesfully....but...no go
It wont boot with the the original eprom anyway....

Now I'm going to try rewriting the bootblock with the utility I found today
(amiflash)
we'll se what happens....

Will you please let me know if you had any luck....
