Yes I receive the same error flashing dead Epox 8RDA+ Award BIOS on working Abit NF7 motherboard. Tried two different BIOSes, two new floppy disks etc.

I have emailed Rainbow about why this is happening.

Check if the file does not have the read-only attribute set. Looks like a bug in UniFlash - trying to open the file for read and write, which fails when the file is read-only. I get "Error #5: Access denied" then.

What OS are you using to flash? MS-DOS/Win9X?

I have found that the Abit NF7 bios is 4mbit, compared to dead epox 8rda bios which is only SST 2mbit BIOS. Seems impossible to hot-flash on Abit board, winflash says "wrong size".

You can flash chips with less capacity than maximum the board supports. Looks like a software problem.

Also tried latest awdflash with and without /QI switch but complains about mismatch of MAC Address and FIREWIRE address of BIOS file???
