Flash Unknown

I just recently updated the BIOS in my Asus P5A mb and after flashing the bios got an "cant update ESCD error". I tried to re-flash the bios to the old version but now the flash comes back as either "unknown" or "Error - Wite Protection Enabled" depending on which tool I use. I did nothing that would change the write enable status of the ROM so I'm not sure how to fix this. I checked the BIOS settings to see if there was an enable switch and looked for any possible jumpers but nothing..... Can someone help me or am I just screwed.
