FlashBios Dell Inspiron 3800

I would appreciate some help.
I have a Dell Inspiron 3800 and I've downloaded from Dell's website the newest Bios version. I have saved it to a floppy. When I go to execute it, the only thing that happens is that a blue screen pops up. How long does it take for the Bios to load on the computer?
This is a big problems because my keyboard is malfunctioning. I can't type all of the letters, I have to use another keyboard. Any suggestions and/or directions would be appreciated. Thanks.
