Hello every one,

I tried to update this mainboard BIOS to the last version vba-2bab.bin, in order to recognize a larger hard drive.

However, after flashing the mainboard I got the following error:

BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR
AWARD BOOTBLOCK BIOS V 1.0

Ok, no problem, I decided to put back the backup bios I saved in the floppy and then the problem started: Write fail RED blocks during the flash attempt.

System rebooted with same error, tried again and now the error is:

SYSTEM IS NOT NEW AWARD BIOS...
PLEASE PROGRAM ROM BIOS FIRST.

What to do now ?

I tried uniflash 1.32, but had no luck. Also tried to HOT FLASH it and no luck. What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Edwin

You know, this is the first time this happens to me. I just can't beleive it.
What I does not understand is, why it starts to flash it and then looks like the BIOS chip just can't be programmed.

I got even another chip identical to the original one, thinking it was the chip that was deffective. I tried to flash it and I got the same result.

Now I beleive this have to be a curse on me.

Any Ideas ?

I have the same problem!! :x

check bios chip part number under the sticker.

if 28 in it: 12V flash chip

if 29 in it: 5V flash chip

check flash voltage setting
