Liggy/Herrie over on the CDfreaks site have developed a new tool for flashing firmware to NEC and compatible DVD drives. Unfortunately, they've named the tool "UNIFLASH". The announcement is here:

I've posted a message in that thread pointing out the name conflict and suggested they liaise with Rainbow to sort the problem. I'd say Rainbow has prior rights!

Hope they're intelligent enough to change the name.
If you search for Uniflash on Google, you get uniflash.org as first two links and then (3rd link) the page of original UniFlash authors with 1997 date.

From the thread at CD-Freaks since joegib posted, it looks like Liggy is going to change it as they're discussing the best alternative name.
