Hi.

Currently there is no public utility to open this 1MB (8Mb FWH)AMI BIOS file:
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/soc ... TM0203.zip

( It is the same like: http://kuriaki.myftp.org:8245/Archives/ ... M/0203.rom )

Maybe any private utility?
;-)
Looks like Veit Kannegieser has no time to update his Amideco utility.

you need cut last two bytes of the 0203.rom and save it,
then you can use mmtool to open it.

Sunbird.

Wow, respect. :)

This "bug" is really simple. :)
But nobody thinks about such a bug.

For months I was trying this, deleting one to five bytes, whitout results.
The problem was the tools I was using with it.
Thanks a lot my friend !!

I have the same issue only with a 512kb rom image and
an 4Mb Intel FWH

There are two versions of the firmware I would like to check for
uCode patches. Both images are AMI BIOS as with;

v1.3
Program: eSupport.com BIOS Detect v1.2 July 21, 2003
BIOS Date: 10/28/99
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 63-10B1-001169-00101111-071595-WHITNEY-1WHITNEY
OEM Sign-On: A6178O1 V1.3MR 140100
Chipset: Intel Whitney 82810 rev 3
CPU Type: Pentium III
CPU Speed: 600 Mhz
CPU Max: 800 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 512K
Memory Installed: 128 MB
Memory Maximum: 1024 MB

v1.72
Program: eSupport.com BIOS Detect v1.2 July 21, 2003
BIOS Date: 05/08/00
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 63-10B1-001169-00101111-071595-WHITNEY-1WHITNEY
OEM Sign-On: A6178EO1 V1.72MR 08052000
Chipset: Intel Whitney 82810E rev 3
CPU Type: Pentium III
CPU Speed: 733 Mhz
CPU Max: 800 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 512K
Memory Installed: 128 MB
Memory Maximum: 1024 MB
It is an AMI BIOS as with

I have used MMTool v3.x and the images are not recognized.
I have used MMTool MMTool_2.22.1.exe and it will (apparently)
load the image bit no modules are listed.

Is this a similar problem?
I did try to cut the two bytes from the BIOS image but
then MMTool MMTool_2.22.1.exe states the image length is wrong.

Any help or suggestions appreciated

Ok

Got these opend with AMIBCP (non-Windows version)
Q - Can anyone give me a walk-through of how to
extract and add Intel uCode updates with this tool?

Please!

Thanks

The new version of AMI Bios Utilities included in BNTBTC (8.00.11 RC1 I think) will do all the things quite easily that have been mentioned in this forum. I have had the 1.00MB BIOS problem too, and when I was researching it, I found the utilities mentioned both too old and inadequate, so I found AMIBCP v8 for Windows (included in the AMI BIOS Utils 8). Give it a whirl, it should work. You can find it in the Wims Bios forum here
