I have an Asus P5B-VM SE motherboard that uses the Intel 82801HB ICH8 in the southbridge of the P965 chipset.

I'm quite sure that this chipset supports AHCI, but even in the latest BIOS from Asus (903) it's not possible to activate it.

Is there anyway to modify this BIOS to get an option to activate it?

Thanks for the reply edwin, but as far as I know the Intel Matrix Storage Manager is a Windows XP program that must be run after the operating system is installed.

I'm looking for a mod of the BIOS to get AHCI enabled in POST so I can get it available during the installation of the operating system.
