symcmos not working?

I recently bought a Sony VAIO, not knowing Sony disables VT in the BIOS without the option to turn it on.
I read about using a tool called symcmos to alter a cmos register to enable Intel VT anyway, so I made a boot USB disk with DOS on it and symcmos.
However, when I run it, it gives
Write symbolic report to file: DEFAULT.TXT
combineFiles (0h, COMBINE.ROM)...
initPdmEntry ...
search '$PDM' ... not Found!
pdmEntry = NULL !
This is build 643710-035. The older 643710-023 build only gives
Write literal report to file: DEFAULT.TXT
Cannot find BCPNV
as output. Can anyone please help me a bit here? What is going wrong? Is symcmos unable to read my cmos? Am I using a faulty version of symcmos? Can any of the BIOS guru's here explain what the error message means?

Disclaimer: Although this is a fairly simple task, I take no responsibility should anything go wrong, so try this at your own risk. This method only applies to VAIOs with a Phoenix BIOS and CPUs that support VT-x, not the newer Montevina-based VAIO FW, Z, SR, BZ, TT, AW, CS or other models with the Aptio/InsydeH2O UEFI framework.
So, which series do you have?

This is an interesting quote. Where did you find that text?
I'm not sure what it is saying btw. The P8400 series Core2Duo is supposed to support Intel VT. I quote seems to suggest that my proc does not support Intel VT, because it is Montevina, but why that would be the case I do not know.
Or does the quote just mean that my BIOS isn't supported by the app?

On a forum for support for that utility.
You have a Montevina-based system and that is not supported by this version of the utility. I think because enabling that by hacking the bios is done in a different way not supported by this version of the utility.

I had a hard time finding an actual download site (as a lot of them were not available at the time). I did not stumble over a support forum, can you provide a hint as to where to find it. I would really appreciate it
