Hello,

Can someone be so kind to explain me exactly what is the meaning of code 1F. My POST it's stuck on this code and it can't get past it. It's Award version 6.00PG

I haven't found anything clear in all manuals i read or resources on the internet I've searched so far. It's something related to EISA memory...i tried with several video cards and several memory sticks dual or single, single sided or double sided and all do the same...i am a little bit lost and i just want to understand better this code.

Thank you.

I think EISA non-volatile memory it's the CMOS memory !? right? So, it is a problem were the system can't write back settings to this area...or there is a problem with the check-sum of the settings already stored...i have to make some light on this subject...

depends on what revision of the award core bios you are working with:

Most of them have initialize the main memory in the next step (1E) so I think your memory slots/modules are broken somehow. Check the voltages in there.

Yes you are right, i figured out at a point that in fact the message it's referring to writing the settings in the reserved area of the RAM the few kb that it reserves when starting up and if a problem occurs with the ram slots then there is the problem.

Thank you very much for your help and hint, i appreciate it.
