Flashing Apple's EFI Firmware to Intel EFI board...

Dear BIOS gurus,
I am interested in flashing Apple's EFI Firmware to Intel EFI boards like the D945GNT series.
I am looking for any general flashing advice this forum can offer, such which flashing tools to use. To avoid Intel's "BIOS ID" check, it sounds like avoiding their flashing tools may be the way go.
I want to be able to experiment with EFI firmware development on these boards but need some way to do it safely. So, I am wondering what can be done to ensure that the recovery BIOS is not overwritten. However, I am not even sure if that is in fact a possibilitly with the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) flash memory device archetecture used in these boards.
Thanks in advance,
