Modding Keyboard Controller/Bios

I wasn't sure if this should be here or under notebooks. Feel free to move to the appropriate forum if I've guessed wrong.

Anyway, here's what I'd like to do.

I have an Asus EEE 1000 computer. This is identical to the the Asus EEE 1000H computer except mine comes with a SSD and the 1000H comes with a HDD.

Now I've installed a new keyboard (from an ASUS EEE 1000HE due to a better layout) on my laptop. Once I did this, four keys on my keyboard stopped working (0 P ; /). However, I knew all the keys on this new keyboard worked on the 1000H, but only those with an updated BIOS. They did not release an updated BIOS for the 1000.

So what I did was flashed the 1000H BIOS on my machine. The 4 keys are now working on my machine as well as all my other hardware. However, it won't let me boot anymore off the battery, just when it's plugged in. Once it's booted, I can unplug it from the wall and it'll run off the battery just fine.

Here's what I'd like to do. I'd like to take the BIOS for the 1000 and replace only the keyboard controller/BIOS with the one from the 1000H BIOS and then reflash this modified BIOS back into my machine. I've been Googling for the past 4 hours to figure out how to do this. I've found plenty about replacing the VGA BIOS and stuff like that, but not for the keyboard. Could someone here tell me how I can do this? Many thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the BIOS is AMI.

Contact Asus for a custom bios.
