FLASH BIOS Failure

Reinstalled Win XP Pro through SP3 with no problems and connected to the HP Driver site to get driver for touchpad and graphics card with no problem. HP Webiste indicated that a BIOS update was recommended. When installed recommend FLASH BIOS update, it failed and now the PC will not boot or even send power to the display. All LEDs are lit and do not blink. I tried copying the manual BIOS update to a CD ROM and renamed the update to AMIBOOT.ROM based on the instructions listed at http://www.wimsbios.com/faq/howtorecove ... ptbios.jsp. Tried to boot to the CD and apply the update, but that didn't work.
