After flashing system BIOS of a desktop computer, the CMOS should usually be cleared. This often is done by removing the motherboard battery or using a jumpering Clear CMOS pins on the motherboard.

With a notebook computer, clearing the CMOS seems more difficult due to access difficulties to the motherboard battery (CMOS battery).

Should the CMOS be cleared after a BIOS flash of a notebook computer?

before, reset to defaults (in bios setup), after, reset to defaults and save, then reboot, set things as you want. usually is good enough.
