Hello,

I have an old Canon NoteJet 486/25 which doesn't display anything, but at start i hear 1 long beep and 3 short ones. The display inverter powers up, the back-light it's ok, but nothing displayed on the screen.

Could this be a RAM problem or a video card??

I couldn't find any pertinent info on this one.

Thank you.

The problem is I cannot find what bios is in there (Phoenix, AMi, Award, proprietary?) so it's unknown what problem it has.
AMI bios uses this for ram problems, award for video problem.

I have no idea what kind of device we are dealing with here, only that it seems to be some sort of notebook with internal printer and it was released in 1991 or thereabout. So far I cannot find a single piece of pertinent info either, not from canon, not elsewhere.

Yes i am also thinking that it could be a propietary BIOS but for the moment it's a mystery. The bios battery it's dead, i will try to change it and see what will happen. It can be a video init error as it shows nothing even connected to an external monitor . Thank you for the reply. Have a great year :)
