Toshiba 430CDT-not recognizing memory upgrade

My 430CDT had the max 48mb of RAM. I got hold of a KTT720/128 and installed it. However the BIOS will not recognize the additional mb's, only the 16 base and 32 of the 128. The latest BIOS from Toshiba is 6.50, which was successfully flashed. There must be a way to have the BIOS recognize the additional memory because the Air Force had 430CDT's with 144mb. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please no replies like "get a new computer". This works flawlessly for what I do with it.
