reprogramming award bios in asus L3800C laptop

Hi!
I´ve an Asus L3800C laptop and so far everything is all right.
but one thing isn´t satisfactorily...and this is the fan controlling.
the fan starts at 38° C and is from this point everytime running. it runs very quite but it´s getting louder with 48°C and this is the temperature the laptop is working the most of the time..(48 - 54°C).
It would be fine if it is possible, to reprogramm the bios so that the fan starts at a higher temperature and is only running a short time - not all the time
Is this possible?
Thanks Andi
