Ntldr and bios problems/Pheonixbios

My laptop crashed and I cannot re-install xp again and everytime I try to access bios by hitting f10 but when i get to the pheonixbios screen I cannot adjust anything but the boot order and time. I would like to know if anyone can help me cause even when i do fdisk/mbr everything checks out. chkdsk /p also says everything is good but when installing i get random errors about 28% percent thru the upload from disk.
