Phoenix bios upgrade on Sony Vaio fxa-36

Hello,
I would have decided to make a upgrade of the laptop in the subject, but I have always renounced because of the limitations that Sony has introduced in the bios. Therefore surfing in net in order to try a solution I have found this site : http://www.esupport.com.
What do you think about it? This bios upgrade will it be truly unlocked and pc desktop like? Or i have a more new bios but locked and unfrindly like now?
