When I turn it on I get two beeps and then the fans all power down.
According to the GW site.
http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Sol ... 0002.shtml
It uses a Phoenix BIOS, although I didnt see mention of just two beeps in thier code list. I did see that 2 beeps seem to be bad memory on a few other sites. I replaced the memory and still no change. I have removed the CDROM,Floppy,HD and still get the same thing. I also get nothing on the screen at all. I am at a loss, any suggestions?

check the video card external internal settings
sleep button switch ,make sure its working ,sometimes they jam up and you need to completey remove and join or leave cicuitry depending on polarity to allow the pc to continue, but you then never have that feature
(better off i reckon anyway)
also cpu ,make sure its fitted firmly in the socket
or any other potential loose component before deciding if its terminal.

Thanks for the reply.
I actually tracked it down to a crack in the MB near the AC power connector.
At this point I don't think I want to persue buying/installing a new MB for it. Gateway wants as much for one as a new laptop. *shrugs*
