Dear Sir,

I have Compaq Armada 110. It still have BIOS Phoenix ver 0F01. When I change the vga memory setting from 8M to 4M, the notebook become dead. I guess my notebook has boot block problem.
When I turn it on, the notebook try to read floppy and CDRom and all light are dead. I have try to make crisis disk and boot block jumper, but still fail. So what can I do?

Thank you.

so you changed the vga memory from 8M to 4M and after that the notebook is dead. Have you tried to change it back to 8Mb? If you did any modifications
on your own, change it back to the default settings. This might work.

Hope this helped you. :D

Thank for your reply.
I cannot change it again because the notebook cannot turn on.
When I turn it on, the notebook just try to read floppy and cdrom. After that the notebook do nothing and the LCD show nothing.
I have try to make Crisis Recovery Disk but it does not work

Try reoving the CMOS battery for a few minutes, so BIOS will switch to default settings.

I would love to know how you managed to re-flash the bios if the machine was dead and with no display.

I open my notebook. There is flash chip on the bottom of the mainboard.
Release the chip and flash it. You need experience person to flash the chip.

Thank you.
