It`s me once again.
I`ve found the way to load a new bios by pressing CTRL+HOME during power on. notebook read the floppy with newbios.rom

but laptop still won`t work. two versions of bios from nec-online site are wrong.

COULD SOMEBODY SEND ME THE .ROM FILE FROM WORKING VERSA LXi???

Sounds like bios was not the original problem of your laptop.

Therefore it may be difficult to repair it now that you have two problems on it simultaneously.

It is never good approach to flash bios if you have stability problems

Hi,
I have several LXi's, I would be happy to help if I can.
Problem is, I am not sure how to extract the .rom file from a working unit.
I also have a few different versions of the early LXi bios floppy writer, but those probly won't help now.
Have some pieces too. Do you know ithe location of the bios chip on these computers? Mobo or dtrboard?
