i've had this problem too with my notebokk with SiS 630 chipset. after 3 reeboots there was no problem longer. and with the driver i think you need the full package of SiS drivers. first you should install the AGP104 driver, and then the 206_win2k_630 (?) graphics driver.

but i think you also tried to overclock these 486? is it possible?

this video-card has a vga and a monochrome port. but i don't know how to activate the right port, because there are 4 switches.
i tried both ports. onece with vga and then with black-and-wite.

have i to cool my old 486DX2-50MHz processor? or is it possible to overheat it without a cooler?

yes, i've disabled the onboard graphic-chip. i now think the problem is with the external graphic-card. i don't have any informations about it, and how to set the jumpers. i think the manufacteur of the card is TLI USA an the type is P/N 8822 or NM1 94V-0 or 59-6679-0005. more can't i find on the gr...

i've an old AT&T globalyst-510. i will integrate an old Monochrome grafik-card, because i will use an old monochrome display (9pin connector). but the the external grafik-card don't recognize any monitor / or possible the gfx-card isn't recognized by the globalyst-510.

if you have bought the notebook, you'll have a handbook. there must be some info about a jumper for deleting the boot passwort.

do you have a boot disk for win98? then you can make new partitions for your old drive. and then format.

I've found a possibility to use the 6GB-HDD!
the primary partition is as big as the BIOS ist supports(500MB) but the other partitions I can make as big as I would like! (2GB) and windows can use these big partitions.
so I don't need any special software or an bios update... (only fdisk)
