I don't know if this has been set right.
Motherboard: Asus P4B533-M
BIOS: Award Bios (dont know the version because i'm writing this from the office):
I would like to know what is the meaning of following numbers in 'Advanced' tab under the secondary master(slave, CD-RW and CD-DVD) under the 'ULTRA DMA Mode' . You can choose between 0,1,2,3,4,5,Disable.

Which setting is optimal - to achieve the best performance of my CD drive????
Thanks a lot!

Leave it set to AUTO. The drive should support UDMA2 (UDMA/33).
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org
