According to my PC handbook it says, "MSI system BIOS with AMI core". Indeed, when I run utilities it's reported that system BIOS is MSI ver 1.6, and when I enter the BIOS setup prior to boot up I read, "AMIBIOS Easy setup Utilities Ver 1.16".Thing is what BIOS do I have? Do I have AMI BIOS or MSI BIOS?

If I wanted to upgrade I think I'd go to MSI site and install a product by Award. Maybe after that would lead to MSI system BIOS with Award core? I think then I'd say I had Award BIOS.

Check for MS-xxxx marking on the motherboard and write down any other names nearby. Post the result.

From writing on the mobo:MS 6119 VER 1.1 BX2

Other info from a utilty:

BIOS Date: 12/18/98
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 61-1218-001169-00111111-071595-440BX-1440B000
OEM Sign-On: A6119P2 V1.65 121898
Chipset: Intel 440BX/ZX rev 2
Superio: Winbond 977TF rev 0 found at port 3F0h
OS: Microsoft Windows 98 Version: 4.10.1998

Actually the utility does say BIOS type is Amercian Magatrends. Yet the 001169 identifies an MSI involvement in some capacity. Also I think the P2 identifies MSI.

You have an AMI Bios for a MSI OEM-mainboard sold to Nec/Packard Bell

As I wrote in your other thread
