I've got a strange little computer from a manufacturer that's no longer around. The computer is an EZgo E7. It was made by a company called AtoZ that's no longer around. It's got a P4 processor, a SiS650 Chipset, and an AMI bios.

I want to upgrade the bios if possible, but I'm having trouble locating an update for it....

On the boot-up, the string is 62-0620-009999-00101111-040201-SiS645-1AAWV006

I ran AMIBios motherboard utility, and it spit out:
Manufacturer: LouisDesignLab
Product Name: LD2
Version: 1.0
Serial Number: 00000000

I've googled LouisDesignLab with no results. Any ideas?....

Thanks.

http://www.ezgo.it/IndexEngl.htm might be of help here...

and I have found some remains of support pages here:

I've found that bios, and it was the same thing that was already on my PC (as far as I could tell). I think it was wrong (either that, or a weird motherboard problem).

I contacted eSupport.com, and they said they had an updated bios for my computer. I tried it, and now I've got a paperweight. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone....

I think I'm just going to have to find a replacement computer, and that's being tough. I found a manufacturer in South Africa, but I haven't heard back.

I hadn't seen the ezgo.it website. Maybe they can help...

Thanks,

Danny

Danny, is the bios chip in a socket? If so we could try a hotflash procedure with the original latest bios for this board. I think it's weird the esupport bios killed the board all together, usually they have pretty decent stuff, I don't hear that much complaints about them.

It is in a socket. What do you have in mind?

The more I think about the computer, the more I think something has gone haywire with the motherboard anyway. It may not be fixable....

Check for http://www.badcaps.net effects first before we go that route if you are questioning the motherboard anyway.
