Hello, i hate to bother anyone i mean i tried to research as much as i can by checking out the forums, search engines and the compaq site.

I found a few bios but i cannot seem to flash my board.

Its an Intel 82810E chipset i know that much, the rom is 512K or 1024K,

Intel(R) 810E Chipset
Intel 82801AA (ICH) I/O Controller
Intergrated Graphics Intel(R) 82819 graphics controller

This info was pulled from the chispet identification utility.

Any ideas guys, i've been wanting to rum linux and i run into a ton of hard drive problems. I've read in some places its caused by int13 (an old setting) that cannot be initialized. I'm sure if i can replace the bios there is a way around this. Well any help is more than appreciated. Thank you for your time.

So much for a bios update, results are still the same. I guess the bios were good to go from the factory.

I'm stumped. :/

well i guess there is no bios update beyond what i have. I found out the motherboard manufacturer, its a Mitac 6513wu, sold exclusively to compaq it seems. I wonder if its possible to find a compatible more up to date bios and flash it.

That's Mitac's FTP site. You might be able to find something of interest there.
