Hi all,

There is some confusion about the model of this mobo. Well, at least there is for me... And of course I need a new bios for it.

It's an award modular bios version 4.51pg (well known I suppose:-)

Text on the mobo itself says: 6ltm m102
Text on the bios chip says: 6ltm0 - h100n
Bios Id string: 02/24/98 i440lx-w977-2a69jc39c-00

So, supposedly this is a chaintech 6ltm mobo?

Nonetheless I thought that the "2a69jc39c-00" meant that it is a 6esa m10x mobo.

Now which modell is it? 6ltm or 6esa ?

And, if it is 6ltm, should I pick the bios for 6ltm0 or 6ltm2?
or maybe 6esa0 or 6esa2?
What does the "0" or the "2" mean in the modell number?

Any help would be appreciated...
Thanx in advance,

6LTM = 6LTM0
6LTM M102(= Revision) = 6LTM

6LTM2 would be a newer version of the 6LTM if existing and there would be a 6LTM2 or 6LTM M2xx message written onto the board

Chaintech often uses the same ID-string on different mainboards

Many Thanx Denniss!~!!

I will try the bios for the 6ltm2. Yes, on my own risk of course. And I surely will backup the old one before.

Hope this solves the problem,
I'll let you know the result

6LTM Bios is newer than the 6LTM2 Bios

Thanx again for the reply Dennis,

Do you think that the ltm0 update also includes all the updates of the older model?

I'm especially interrested in this option:

- Adds 400/433/466MHz options to SeePU CPU recognition options

All older Upgrades should be included .
If your Bios supports a Celeron 300A then all other Celeron of the same type should run as the multiplier is locked .

I successfully flashed the bios with your "uniflash" tool using the 6LTM0B22 bios (the newer one).

This already helped a lot, since my 46.1GB harddrive was suddenly recognized in the bios.

But although I can select other clockspeeds now, I cannot clock the cpu higher than 333mhz (it's a PII 400). I wonder why.

I do not really understand the connection between a fixed multiplier and the recognition of a range of processors (the celeron 300) (offtopic?)

Thanx again!

A P2-400 is designed to run with 100MHz FSB and your mainboard is designed for 66MHz (with some headroom up to 83MHz overclocking PCI/AGP) .
With 66MHz FSB and fixed 4.0x multiplier your CPU should run at 266MHz regardless of multilplier/speed setting in Bios .
