Hello everyone
I've been searching for a long time what could be my motherboard, but finally I gave up and decided to join this forum, which I hope will be helpful.
Anyway, here's the BIOS Agent 3.30 result:

BIOS Date: 10/10/94
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 51-0000-000000-00101111-101094-TRITON
OEM Sign-On: None
Chipset: Intel Triton 430FX rev 1
Superio: Winbond 787 (use 89h) rev 0 found at port 250h
OS: Win95
CPU: P54C 89 MHz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Unknown
BIOS ROM Size: Unknown
Memory Installed: 63 MB
Memory Maximum: Unknown

It is principally the ten 0's in the string that disturb me, I've never found or seen that combination.
Second analyze, this time with Bios Wizard:

Enhanced Disk Drive
Specification : BIOS currently supports this feature
DMI Version : Valid DMI is not found
ACPI Version : ACPI is not found
APM Version : APM BIOS is not installed
Booting From CD-ROM : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not found

found
BIOS Chip in Socket : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not
found
Supports Selective Booting : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not
found
Supports LS-120 Booting : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not

Supports ZIP Booting : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not
found
Supports Network Booting : Unable to test this feature because DMI is not

BIOS Manufacturer : American Megatrends
BIOS ID : 51-0000-000000-00101111-101094-TRITON
BIOS Date : 10/10/94
BIOS OEM Signon :
BIOS ROM Size : Unknown
Chipset : Intel Triton 430FX rev 1
Super I/O Chip : SMC 665GT rev 2 found at port 3F0h

Well now, If you look at the super I/O chip, you will notice they're not the same in both analyzers...kind of strange, if someone could highlight me on that.

To be sure I will give you a final analyse, this time with CTBios (as stated in the faq):

BIOS-Info, c't/Andreas Stiller, V. 1.5 10/00

Well, I think I gave you all the info I had.
Oh, one thing, on the mobo itself I located some sort of chip with SMC FDC37C665GT written on it, what would presage the BIOS WIZARD test was the right one, although i'm not sure of it.

A really big thank you if you could help me out.

regards

No ID possible with this Information .

Please cheack for any markings/numbers or anything that might be useful for an ID and post them !
All infos found on stickers are needed .
Sometimes you find something on the back side or in the edges/corners.

Info we have now : i430FX chipset with SMc I/O chip and I assume an AT motherboard .
How many ISA/PCI Slots ?
How many L2-Cache and is it OnBoard or via Slot-Module ?

Does this board came out of a branded PC-system like Dell/HP ?

Hi!

Your mobo seems to be an AT/Socket 7(5?) mobo equipped with
- level PI Intel P54C 90 MHz processor and 64 MB memory
- a 128 kB BIOS chip (prob. on a replaceable DIP32 socket)
- an AMI BIOS code dated 10/10/94
- an Intel Triton i430FX chipset
- a SMC FDC37C665GT MultiI/O chip
- etc.

The mobo manufacturer itself is not yet recognized by these data, but by some, even very small, marking anywhere on the mobo, some three-four-five-six digit/letter product code, which could then be traced on the net e.g. by Google.

From the manufacturer's pages (if still existing ...) you may find the description for all the needed/interested details, e.g. exact applicable BIOS code version.

Hello

thanks for answering my post.
I think I've found something!
On one edge of the board (well hidden) I've found following inscription:

Acer AP5C 94145-1 48.86603.001

Is that actually a motherboard name?
through my research on internet it would seems so, but I want your confirmation first.

Thanks!

Hi!

Yes, Denniss got the right link.

Acer/AOpen is a Taiwanese world brand on electronics, PC's, notebooks etc.

What's next? Will you be updating the BIOS?

Good luck, maybe still meeting on these forums ...

Well, yes, I thought about upgrading the bios, because it's dated from '94 and it has never ever been updated since my father bhought the pc (Must have been in '95, i think).
I think I will handle it myself, but if you feel like your motivated and you have nothing else to do, you are allowed to help me *winkwink*.
Thanks anyway

Oh yeah, the base of the mobo-id and bios upgrade was actually the idea of overclocking my pc (90Mhz, and I wanted to have it like, say, 2.8 Ghz...oh? not possible you say?Well then...let's say 120-130 Mhz, because there are many programs who just need a little bit more to run (correctly))
there are many guides on the net for overclocking, and to handle with jumpers, so i'll try to dl the mobo-manual from somewhere, where the jumper settings must be stated somewhere, and I'll try to do the thing.
If you have an advice or say "forget about it man, it will never work", I'm allways open.
thanks

Hi!

Yes, after loading/checking the manual for this mobo from the page -> http://download.aopen.com.tw/downloads/ ... ge=English (the last item on that page) I noticed your mobo is really a dream for an enthusiastic experimenter, it could be set by jumpers even up to 200 MHz, oho! ..., but of course you need such speed Intel processor P54C (non MMX 3.3V) for that, (or maybe also P55C MMX 2.8V would work on it). They shouldn't cost too much, if you could find them somewhere, I have some 10 of them (from 100 to 233 MHz) on my table for a few dollars each ..., but, maybe too far away from you ...

Have a nice time experimenting!

I didn't really understand what you said, you mean I need a P54C intel processor (which I already have), but not the version ( of type) that I have? How do I know what the type of my P54C processor is?

For the distance, if you live in Germany, couldn't really be a problem, I'm a neighbour, I live in Brussels, Belgium.
