Hi
I'm trying to identify the model of an old motherboard for a bios upgrade. Found nothing so far.
Bios Agent gave me this:

BIOS Date: 02/16/95
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.50G (with 2094 bug)
BIOS ID: 02/16/95-SiS-496-497/A/B-2A4IBS21-00
OEM Sign-On: REV. B
Chipset: SiS 496 rev 49
Superio: HMC 83755 rev 0 found at port 250h

Searching the net, all I got was that it is:
manufacturer: Soyo
model:???

The closest match I've found was Award V.4.50G 03/31/95-SiS-496-497/A/B- 2A4IBR21-0 on your Wanted BIOSs page. Is that a bad sign?

Thanks in advance for any help.

According to the Award Bios numbers list S2 points out to Soyo
A google search came up with some possible model numbers like 4SA or 4SA2 or 4SAW or similar - have a closer look at the board as the number should be printed onto it .

Bios Upgrade is only possible with a flash eeprom installed or you must have an eprommer

I checked for a printed model number but couldn't find any. I checked the manuals of the models you mentioned but the layouts didn't match so I went back to the board and there was a little green sticker with 030H2 written on it and that was it. I had overlooked it
Sorry.

Anyway I found the manual: http://www.soyousa.com/dl/manuals/486/30H-MU20.PDF

and the bios:
http://www.soyousa.com/downloads/dlmissing.php
Name: 30H-B2.BIN
Size: 131072
Release Date: 1994-03-07
Type: BIOS Upgrade

but it's even older than mine, so I think I'll just give up.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Their mistake. This is the info of that BIOS:

12/07/95-SiS-496-497/A/B-2A4IBS2AC-00
REV B2

There's also a beta, which "might" work on your board:

09/11/97-SiS-496-497/A/B-2A4IBS29C-00

...which is patchable for large HDD support :)
