... well, specifically the jumper settings, actually. I can't find where to put the power switch connector, so I can't test the board!

The ATC-6240 is not listed in the TH99 archive. Nor is it on this page, which has seemingly every other A-Trend motherboard manual ever:

http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/a-trend/manuals/index.html

... so, if anyone has a scan of this manual, or any info on the jumpers, I'd be most grateful

Thanks in advance,

Hi, that would be my collection. What chipset does your board have? Can you send in a picture of the board to edwin@wimsbios please?

Hi Edwin - yes, I'll send a pic when I can. It's an Intel 440BX board.

Cheers,

Chris

Try and find something called front panel connector and make a detail picture of that too as the layout/connections of those are not mentioned in ANY atrend manual either. Most info is about the specifications of the motherboard and some stuff about PS/2 and SB-Link but not much else. Like any early 440BX board this one max 256MB per memory slot, need to use low-density SDRAM (16 chips per module) and max P2-450, no P3 support.

Hi Edwin,

Here's the photo - sorry for the delay (RL in the shape of new baby daughter). One of the board and one of the front panel connector - sorry they're not better, I keep missing the (rare) sunshine!

Cheers,

Chris

x=pin, o=no pin, connected in bold and colored.

green: speaker
violet: power on led, I think the colored lead on the left-most pin of that set
orange: reset switch
blue: harddisk led, not sure where the colored lead has to go
red: power on switch

for the switches and the speaker, the polarity doesn't matter. For the LEDs, they won't turn on when connected wrongly but it won't damage anything if you do connect them wrong at first. Let me know if and how things work out and where the colored (+) leads of the LEDs need to go.
sorry they're not better, I keep missing the (rare) sunshine!
You have to be kidding me, these are far more than adequate for this purpose 8)

That is truly awesome - thank you so much!

I will try connecting up this board when I can - I'm sorry to say it probably won't be for a while! But I will definitely post back here when I've tried it.

No problem, other A-trend board owners seem to cling pretty hard to them so there's no real hurry in retrieving the info :)
