computer lock up with windos xp

I install xp home edition in a pc chips M726 after that i have just problem
1) the PC do not Boot at all
2) The pc lock up, everytime that try to go to the window desktop.

I was thinking that probably i have to update the BIOS, the only one that i found say that might work with w98se...

I need one that work with windows xp. Please somebody help me...Thanks. Miton
