Don't sure if this is the right forum to post in, but as the topic says, is there any motherboard identification tools for Linux ? I have tried googling but I didn't find anything (maybe my searchstring was bad).

Motherboard indentification tools for linux ?
Yes, that would be easy - if I could reboot the computer (server)!
If I could identify the BIOS ID-string then I could take down the server for maintence (newer CPU, bigger HDD, more RAM) - but I can't take it down just for look at the BIOS ID-string!
I'll keep looking...

Ahh. Server. Well what distro you use? There's package dmidecode for Debian Testing/Unstable http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/dmidecode.
Ah. You saved my day!
I'll download it from http://www.nongnu.org/dmidecode/ (couse I have different distributions on different servers).
